My reading goals for this year are to read and study as many as possible of the novels in mystery writer, Anne Perry’s, William Monk series.
After reading, “The Face of a Stranger” I have become totally engrossed in not only Monk’s struggle to regain his memory as he works to solve murders that take place during the later half of the 1800’s, but also with Perry’s depth of authorial narration interwoven with her ability to deliver internal thoughts of Monk. Like Adam and Eve whom God warned not to eat of the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden, the protagonists of our stories often encounter box they are to leave closed, lovers whose lips theirs are not to touch, forests in which they are encouraged not to wander alone, galas and balls that on attending they must exit by the stroke of midnight, and alas sea witches with whom they should strike no bargains.

Bold Moves, Rejection and Open Arms... http://ping.fm/yn0xD
I made a bold decision two days ago. I went back to an old novel on which I have done six revisions, and began the 7th.
I wrote the first draft of the novel in late 2001, after having received a rejection for a novel I had written and worked on from 1999-2001.
My how time flies when you’re having fun. Yes, I was having fun just writing back at the start of this previous decade and this new 10 year-old millennium. Continue reading ‘Bold Moves, Rejection, and Open Arms…’
